Sheffield's Owler Brook School opens new extension
The staff, parents, governors, the Lord Mayor of Sheffield and David Blunkett MP this week joined with representatives from the design and construction teams to mark the opening of Owler Brook Primary School's new facilities. The entire School was designed by Rock Townsend as part of the Sheffield PFI scheme, scheme completed in 2001. The recent works delivered a standalone extension to house 60 pupils in the Nursery and Reception class. The design overcame the challenges of the sloping site and requirements for increased external play space by delivering the new Playdeck - balconied external playspace floating in the canopy of the site's trees.
