UNESCO have announced 13th February as World Radio Day and to celebrate, a variety of practitioners, academics and tools providers are coming together to the School of Oriental and African Studies in London to explore ways in which this traditional platform reaches even the most remote and vulnerable communities. Start on site for five Rock Townsend Primary School projects
Working with Galliford Try, Rock Townsend are pleased to confirm the start on site of five Primary School Extension projects in Northamptonshire. The five schools will benefit from new classrooms and teaching spaces, with works carefully planned to avoid disruption to normal school operations.
Rock Townsend receives Environmental accreditation
Rock Townsend has taken major steps towards ISO 14001 Environmental Accreditation by achieving BS8555 Stage 3 Certification. With thanks to Waterloo Quarter and Olive for their support in achieving this.
Hyde Community College - Offical Opening
Rock Townsend team members joined the dignitaries, staff and students at the official opening of the new Hyde Community College building. The new school was designed as part of the Tameside BSF programme, where Rock Townsend worked with Carillion plc to deliver a series of Secondary and SEN School projects. The £20m Hyde project features a dramatic central atrium, first class sports facilities and open learning spaces located around the School.

Marylebone Campus: Before & After
Rock Townsend have been working with University of Westminster since 2010, on the £20m redevelopment of their iconic Marylebone Campus. Works were completed in November 2012. The enhanced campus offers:
- A 'Learning Platform': a vibrant environment where staff and students can interact more informally and build their professional networks. - A new and improved catering area, offering a great choice of refreshments with extended opening hours. - New state-of-the-art dynamic multi-purpose facilities that can host a variety of high-profile events such as exhibitions, seminars and forums. - A green and sustainable campus to support a green, lower-carbon, environmental agenda. Measures have been taken to improve natural lighting and air flow, to reduce heat loss and offer significant carbon savings. - Improved library services and space to provide better study areas for students, with direct access from the new Learning Platform to support students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
