So proud of our Joe G for chairing the first virtual Architects Climate Action Network (ACAN) open meeting via Zoom last week. Well done also to Joe Penn for his involvement in the event, organisation and enthusiasm!
ACAN is a network of individuals within architecture and related built environment professions taking action to address the twin crises of climate and ecological breakdown. Read more about them here.
The event on 8th April included guest speakers Sofie Pelsmakers, researcher and author of the Environmental Design Pocket Book; Scott McAulay, founder Anthropocene Architecture School; Fionn Stevenson, Professor of Sustainable Design at Sheffield University and Indriany Lionggo & Honorine van Den Broek d’Obrenan from C40 Cities. The meeting also included a webinar discussion on the question of how to reach out beyond borders to address the climate and ecological crisis.
