Rock Townsend has been appointed to develop a masterplan for the University of Westminster’s Harrow Campus, supporting the delivery of its Estates Strategy over the next five years.
Home to the Faculty of Media, Art and Design, the campus currently accommodates 4,000 students and 250 staff across approximately 40 undergraduate and postgraduate courses and has established a strong reputation for professional, practice-based education as well as academic teaching and research.
The masterplan will support the University’s 2020 Vision through the delivery of industry-standard studios, workshops and laboratories and the refurbishment of areas in between the existing cluster of teaching buildings to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and the cross-fertilisation of ideas between courses.
Long term, the masterplan will also seek to increase student accommodation and sport provisions on the site, improve circulation and orientation around the campus and further showcase the varied portfolio of innovative work.
