The design of St Mary’s Primary School extension is based around a simple form where classrooms obtain an outlook across the playing field and the circulation core links each classroom with an open plan break-out space.

Each of the ground floor classrooms has direct access to external play space and the reception classrooms have their own covered play area. For group meetings the central space, between the offices, is the area where students can come to interact with their tutors to encourage social learning.

A first floor play deck provides additional outdoor space for both play and learning.

The additional 10 classrooms, break-out space, pupil and student toilets and professional kitchen increases St Mary's Primary School to a two form entry school.
