The following projects illustrate Rock Townsend’s work within culturally significant heritage environments, including transformative projects for clients within Grade I and II settings which have been acknowledged through various awards and Civic Trust recognition.

Working closely with Planning and Heritage officers and consultees, our priority is to ensure client’s needs are realised and enhanced by their heritage assets rather than being constrained by them. This requires close client collaboration to fully explore their brief, combined with a thorough understanding of the significance of their buildings and environments.

The principles of prioritising the retention and reuse of existing materials and structures, reducing waste, developing strategies to allow future adaptability, enhancing building performance, and breathing life into client’s existing assets for their continued and prolonged use are central to our sustainable philosophy, approach to the circular economy and reduction of client’s ongoing carbon and energy costs.
